OREMC Foundation Rounds Out 2022 Awarding $37,400 in Community Grants
The Okefenoke REMC Foundation wrapped up its final granting period of 2022 by making spirits bright with grant awards for 10 organizations totaling $37,400. The next grant deadline is January 6, 2023.
Golf Tournament Yields a $19,000 Donation to the Southeast Cancer Unit, Inc.
For the 31st consecutive year, Okefenoke REMC held its annual Golf Tournament to raise money for the Southeast Cancer Unit, Inc. The tournament—presented by Oglethorpe Power/Georgia Transmission Corporation/Georgia System Operations—raised $19,000 to help support cancer patients undergoing treatment in Brantley, Pierce and Ware counties with medical and travel expenses related to their care.
OREMC Schools Teachers on Job Skills, Training and Career Opportunities
Four Glynn County teachers stepped out of the classroom and into the middle of Okefenoke REMC’s operations for two days in early November. They were four of 20 teachers selected to participate in the Connect Glynn 2022 Education Externship Academy hosted by four local businesses, OREMC being one of them.

Power Cost Adjustment Goes Into Effect September 1
Due to the continued rise in natural gas prices, OREMC has announced effective with September 1 bills, a power cost adjustment of $.017022 per kWh will go into effect.

Two Organizations in Camden County Awarded OREMC Foundation Grants
The Okefenoke REMC Foundation recently awarded eight grants to qualifying organization totally, $30,300, including two organizations in Camden County: Making A Difference Mentoring and St. Marys Little Theatre, Inc.
