Washington Youth Tour
It is back to Washington, D.C., June 16-23, for the 2022 National Washington Youth Tour, a week-long, all-expenses paid, leadership experience in our nation’s capital, making memories while being immersed in monuments, museums and memorials.
Annually OREMC sponsors four students to participate in the National Washington Youth Tour. The 2021 trip to D.C. was canceled due to the pandemic, but five students participated in an OREMC Youth Tour. It focused on Georgia cultural heritage and history connecting students with their cooperative roots, meeting with government representatives, team building and of course, FUN!
All students who are currently enrolled as a junior in high school within OREMC’s eight county service area—Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, Ware and Wayne counties in Georgia and Baker and Nassau Counties in Florida—are invited to apply. Interested students must submit a completed application attach two letters of recommendation and a short essay explaining why they are interested in the Youth Tour experience. Application deadline March 3, 2022. Applications can also be picked up at one of our office locations or mailed to you at your request.
We look forward to receiving your application. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Dewayne Johns at 800-262-5131 ext. 1143 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Georgia High School Association
Along with other cooperatives throughout the state, OREMC is a sponsor of the Georgia High School Association(GHSA). We support not just the athletes at major events around the state, but the coaches as well. The Georgia EMC-sponsored Coaches’ Corners provide a respite for team coaches to relax and refresh during these events.
