It may look like a winter wonderland out there but the overnight wintery mix has caused a build up of ice on trees and wires. We have just over 13,000 members without power this morning due to trees and limbs on wires across our system. Our crews, along with 200 extra sets of hands in mutual aid, will work safely and as quickly as possible given road conditions, to restore power throughout the day.
Tuesday, January 21 at 10 a.m.
Reminder our offices are closing at 1 p.m. today, and will reopen at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, conditions permitting. Mutual aid crews are arriving this afternoon and will be on standby to assist us with power outages once weather and road conditions make it safe to do so.

We are currently under a Winter Storm Watch for WS Enzo, but expectations are that it will become a Winter Storm Warning later today. Forecasters have high confidence the OREMC service area will see wintery precipitation beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday and overnight into Wednesday, resulting in accumulated ice of .01 - .10 inches on power lines/trees/limbs which could lead to power outages.
- All OREMC offices are closing at 1 p.m. on Tuesday allowing for final preparations and for our employees to safely get home.
- Beginning Tuesday, January 21, collections and disconnects will be suspended until further notice.
- You should have a 72-hour supply of water, food, medications and necessities on hand for each member of your family and pets,
- If you have a generator, please see the safety tips below.
- Dress in layers and have blankets. See additional tips for staying warm below.
Our crews and mutual aid will respond to outages once conditions make it safe to do so.
