OREMC Foundation: Making an Impact
Now entering its fifth year, the OREMC Foundations is living up to its mission of being a community development initiative aimed at supporting documented educational, outreach, economic development and health/life safety needs throughout the OREMC service area. Nearly $800,000 has been awarded to local organizations working to address a host of issues, as reflected in the most recent round of grant awards.

- Families with food insecurity is a significant challenge across the OREMC service area, and with costs continuing to rise, so too are the number of families needing assistance.
- Providing necessities, comfort items and a bed of their own for children entering the foster care system are critical needs during a period of significant emotional trauma.
- Supporting our veterans and their families during difficult times, or providing at-risk youth opportunities for safety, security and a loving, supportive environment.
- Making necessary healthcare accessible and affordable.
- Enhancing agricultural education and development of presentation skills.
- Supporting visually impaired youth and adults with camp opportunities that promote adventure, camaraderie and personal development in a safe and nurturing environment.
Equally impressive is the passion and commitment of the people behind all the organizations the OREMC Foundation has awarded grants to. They work tirelessly to make a difference, giving their blood, sweat and tears. Much of their work is often “behind of the scenes” as in many cases, if you don’t need their services, you aren’t looking for them. But for those that do, their helping hands, love and support are a blessing.
If your organization fits the profile, the next grant application deadline is Friday, April 10. Information on qualifying 501(c)3 organization and application can be found at oremc.com/foundation. All funds used to award OREMC Foundation grants comes from unclaimed capital credits.
