Quilt Raffle Benefits Southeast Cancer Unit

October 24th, 2023

Rounding out OREMC’s fundraising efforts associated with its 32nd Annual Golf Tournament is a quilt raffle. Combined, the proceeds from the tournament and the quilt raffle will be donated to the Southeast Cancer Unit, Inc.

Handmade and donated by quilter Joanne Pooler, the lap quilt is large enough to cover a full-sized bed and is on display in the lobby at OREMC’s Nahunta office. The largely red and black color pattern were inspired by all the Georgia fans out there, but the batik fabric makes it a beautiful option for adding color to a living room or bedroom. Tickets for the quilt raffle are $5 each and can be purchased at OREMC’s Nahunta office or with Linda Henderson at the Hoboken Town Hall. Tickets will be on sale through Friday, November 2.

A check will be presented to the Southeast Cancer Unit, Inc. (SECU), after the raffle and all expenses from the golf tournament have been cleared. SECU is an all-volunteer organization that provides financial assistance to cancer patients undergoing treatment, and live in Brantley, Pierce and Ware counties.
